A recent discussion in the How Far Back thread has resulted in an update to the gap list...

Thx for updating the list @j1m. It served as a good reminder to me that I needed to look through my 13th Century coins to see if I could post anything. I think that this Dirham from the Seljuq of Rum will knock off 1291 AD as it is dated AH 690. While looking at my old pics, found out that I apparently had an example of the same messy eagle type and never realized    Not sure if it's on-topic for this thread, to be honest! I do hope it turns out to be. (I might have to look at some more examples to confirm the 690 AH; it's a lot harder for me to figure out what's going on with all these written-out dates.) |

After a bit of a look, I think I see the "and ninety" (wa-tisein) I drew an extra loop near the left of the word which should not be there... I'll study it a bit more whan I have more time. Not sure of the mint, which is should be the next word anti-clockwise.   The Ox moves slowly, but the Earth is patient.

Thx @ttk! Stephen Album had listed this as coming from the Bayburt (Turkiye) mint.

A catch up for 1360. AH761 Bi Tanka Dehli Sultans - Firuz Shah Tughluq  The Ox moves slowly, but the Earth is patient.

Well, I am still using my woefully-outdated Second Edition from 1998, but for this coin, I purchased it directly from a SARC auction.
