@BillyWhite  Could you please explain what you mean by a 'Mule Die Clash' ? I know what the term 'mule' means when referring to coins. Edited by Sharks

Thanks Guys. I noticed on the link you sent that both examples show that the imprint shows both on the obverse and reverse of the coin. The penny I have only shows those extra letters imprinted on the obverse top part of the penny. If it was put in a vise wouldn't it show on both sides of the coin?

@sharks I believe Mule means when there is a die imprint from a completely different type of coin on the coin in question . For instance it looks like the extra letters on the penny I have came from a quarter . well at least in my opinion

Also, it shows it being Raised/Recuse on the face of the coin, while yours shows indented/incuse on the rim of the coin. The damage from a vise job could be made to only show damage on one side of the coin, by using a backer to protect one side. |

Full coin images of both side can help out here - we are only getting part of the story here. And no more screen shots. |

Use error-ref.com to look up any coin error to see what they are. This is not a mule.

I'm just wondering a couple of people mentioned that my pictures were not okay or against the rules. Is it not okay to take a pic of the microscope screen with my phone so that you can get a close up image of the coin? I'm not sure what they mean by screenshot. It was an actual picture I took with my phone of the Tomlov microscope screen. I'll also upload more pics of the penny. |
