I agree! Happy I'm doing a Morgan dollar date set too.
And we should all be grateful for the 19th century silver mine lobbyists.

Wow!! hfjacinto- I've completely missed this thread almost in its entirety. I saw the thread when the book was purchased a few months back. You progressed so fast with this set.

Newest addition, the 1892 is details as it has an old cleaning and small ding on the rim. Still a nice visually appealing coin.

Thanks all, I am still missing the following:

1893
1894- Shop has an AU 50 which looks pretty nice.
1895
1903 - They have an AU58 and 2 MS62. Not sure which one I want.
1921 D - The shop has an AU58 and a MS62. Not sure which one I want.

The 1934 Peace. The shop has an AU58 and a MS62. Not sure which one I want. I was looking at MS62, but the AU58 has less bag marks..

Decisions, decisions...

I like the 1901-O! However, and this might be an unpopular opinion, I'm not a fan of the 1892 details coin. Given the quality of the rest of your set, I think holding out for a problem-free example would be better. But if you like it, that's the most important thing!

Personally, I'd lean toward the AU examples, assuming they have better eye appeal. I'd rather a pleasant AU-58 than a marked low-MS coin. You've added a number of nice AU coins! Looking forward to seeing your choices.

I understand and agree with your comment, but I don't buy by grade. I buy by eye appeal and the 1892 actually looks really good for the grade. Its a nice AU coin, the rim ding is small and the cleaning is old and barely noticeable. If the coin was dipped the cleaning wouldn't be noticed. It doesn't have hairlines which is one of my number 1 turn offs (finger prints being also up there). Looking at the photo above an dignoring the writing on the 2 by 2, can you tell its been cleaned? I'm also conscious of price, the only other 1892 available was actually pretty ugly at 3x the price, so I picked up the one that to me had the best price/appeal ratio.

A lot of the AU coins I got I'm pretty certain would pass for MS if graded, but again, I'm not looking at the grade rather the eye appeal.
