1858 Flying Eagle Looks Odd - Coin Community Forum

The die crack on the obverse and the Cud on the reverse are cool, but the color seems off. Dipped, cleaned, counterfeit? Maybe the lighting? Report this Post to the Staff

Indeed, I like to find raw coins, so the challenge is finding one that's legit and not already in plastic. There is no LCS here, only a gold exchange-type place that masquerades as one. they try to offer cleaned and other details coins for high dollar, worse than ebay. The search goes on.... I usually only go to the local gold exchange if I have gold/silver to exchange, good place for that. But the truth be told, I should have zero expectation and just be happy they have a coin selection at all. Unless I spend the whole day driving, they are hands down the best coin shop around!
