1943 P Jefferson Nickel Delamination Or Damage

HolyJuan New Member United States 13 Posts	Posted 12/01/2024 12:41 pm I've had this nickel for a while and always though this was just post-mint damage. I finally looked at it again under a microscope and there's a lot of weird stuff going on that I'm hopeful I can get your input on. I'm also interested in the "chunk" between the 4 and 3 in 1943. Marv65 Bedrock of the Community United States 10546 Posts	Posted 12/01/2024 8:25 pm An excellent lamination example - " War Nickels" do have a higher amount of lamination issues as the coin stock was rolled from a mixture of 56% copper, 35% copper, & 9% manganese - all which were at different melting temperatures causing problems in the alloy metals.
