New To 2 Cent Pieces. 1864 2c Piece Has Some Possible Die Chips Die Clash Near Date?

ClemClementine New Member United States 15 Posts	Posted 12/26/2024 8:16 pm Hey all! I'm just getting into seeing errors and varieties among the 2 cent pieces. My mom got me this from an antique store for Christmas (She's great). My question is regarding the marks near the 1 and the 8 of the date. Are these just Die Chips? Or just wear on the coin? The chips seem elevated so I'm thinking they are die chips but I'm not sure. They have triangle patterns as well. Just overall wanting to know if this is normal wear and tear or if there is something deeper. Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff
