Hello everyone. Tonight I'm going to share one of my favorite 1943 DDOs. This one is in an ANACS holder and it is probably the nicest AU graded coin I've seen. This die features a doubled eye, nose and chin. With a strong spread on WE and extra thickness on LIBERTY. I suspect this is a rather rare die being that is is dramatic and listed late on both vv and wexlers. I have a bunch of 43 DDOs and plan on sharing a few of them with you. Thanks for looking!
Excellent DDO, Will! Look forward to seeing the others. I would have to agree, that is an over the top AU coin. Maybe the shot it took between the R and the T on the reverse? That's the only think I could think of that would not have made this an MS coin.
Thanks again everyone. And makecents you are absolutely right. There is one thing about ANACS. They will overlook a scratch. I can't remember the variety but I almost bought a MS66 that had a scratch through the motto. I am glad this coin is in an ANACS holder as PCGS would most likely grade it details.
