I agree, it is a nice looking example!

I did wind up getting a technical upgrade, however. It's also a flashy example - great luster is seen in hand.

The fifth 1925 commemorative piece struck by the US Mint was a medal rather than a coin - the Norse-American Centennial Medal.

The medal's sponsor - the Norse-American Centennial Commission - originally sought a commemorative coin but the US Treasury Department was opposed to such a proposal and convinced the sponsor, via Minnesota Representative Ole Juulson Kvale (FL-MN), to pursue a medal instead. The rest is history!

An interesting piece of exonumia - at 2.75" diameter, I suppose that this was a paperweight.
