Quote: That Vancouver is nice, looks undergraded. I agree, it is a nice looking example! I did wind up getting a technical upgrade, however. It's also a flashy example - great luster is seen in hand.

The fifth 1925 commemorative piece struck by the US Mint was a medal rather than a coin - the Norse-American Centennial Medal. The medal's sponsor - the Norse-American Centennial Commission - originally sought a commemorative coin but the US Treasury Department was opposed to such a proposal and convinced the sponsor, via Minnesota Representative Ole Juulson Kvale (FL-MN), to pursue a medal instead. The rest is history! 1925 Norse-American Centennial Silver Medal - Thick Variety For more of the Norse-American Centennial Medal story, see: - 1925 Norse-American Centennial

An interesting piece of exonumia - at 2.75" diameter, I suppose that this was a paperweight. New Orleans Lucky Penny Souvenir

After all these beautiful commemoratives, let's go back down to earth with two workaday European circulating coins from 1925... 1925 Austria 10 groschen: 1925 Denmark 2 Kroner:
