Let's look back a hundred years... There wasn't a war going on, but 1920 was quite a dramatic time for the world's coinage. Following WWI, precious metals started to disappear from circulation in many countries. France dropped silver from her coins altogether and the UK reduced the fineness of her silver coins from 92.5% to 50%. The German Mark was to suffer an even worse indignity. New countries were appearing on the 'coin map' as boundaries were re-drawn following the Treaty of Versailles. And, of course, some countries' coins carried on unchanged. So please post here any coins dated 1920! I'll start the ball rolling with a British 1920 florin. This coin has the same obverse and reverse designs as the florins issued from 1911 to 1919, but was the first UK florin not to be made of sterling silver. This one was part of my childhood collection, pulled from circulation in the early 1970s when it was still legal tender for ten new pence.

Sweden 5 kronor 1920, gold: Sweden had a gold standard until 1931 (although it had been suspended during the world war). After the war, only two issues of gold coins were made: 5 kronor in 1920 and 20 kronor in 1925. These were not intended for circulation but for exchange of bank notes into gold in case someone requested that. (5 kronor corresponded to about 1 dollar in 1920.)
