i will consider it a complete collection of Type l reverse ASEs if I ever acquire the '95-W proof & '19-S ERP, but I won't lose sleep over it. it is still a fine collection without them.

Quote: My exit and done....But No, I am Still Enjoying the Complete To Date series.. Guys like you and I, why should we quit now? We've got the hard ones, the 95W, the 19S ERP. We hear complainers about the Mint raising prices. After you've gone through the turmoil of hunting down every Congrats set, every Limited Edition set, all these little odd sets that exist. Then back out because the Mint wants $95 this time?

Even though I am still partial to the Type 1 Reverse I will keep collecting the Series. With all the new Privy Marks, I look to the bright side of adding even more to the collection!

I have made a Checklist for Special Sets that have an ASE included, There are several that are never going to make into my collection due to cost. The yellow highlighted ones are from non U.S. Mint offerings ( Royal Mint & Royal Canadian Mint). I think I have them all listed, let me know if made any errors.

Hello All, ASE Collectors, This Will be Long, .... I see a Differing # of American Silver Eagle Collectors have a Differing Amount of Actual Mint Marked Versions they collect to Their liking. My concern is The question was asked, " what is a Complete ASE set," First one has to realize a ASE Collector has what They choose to have in their collection, Some choose just a Bullion ASE set , Others might collect them All, Both Bullion and All Mint Marked versions. I collected Probably More multiples than Most, I LOVE this Series.... I started collecting the ASE Bullion, Bought an Album and Only stayed focused to 1986- 2006.... That said I am listing what I have in My All Original Packaged ASE Hoard, Not to mention Every Set Released.....( multiples abound ) #1-1986-S-PROOF #2-1987-S-PROOF #3-1988-S-PROOF #4-1989-S-PROOF #5-1990-S-PROOF #6-1991 -S-PROOF #7-1992-S-PROOF #8-1993-P-PROOF #9-1994-P-PROOF #10-1995-P-PROOF #11-1995-W-*PROOF #12-1996-P-PROOF #13-1997-P-PROOF #14-1998-P-PROOF #15-1999-P-PROOF #16-2000-P-PROOF #17-2001-W-PROOF #18-2002-W-PROOF #19-2003-W-PROOF #20-2004-W-PROOF #21-2005-W-PROOF #22-2006-W-Burnished #23-2006-W-PROOF #24-2006-P-REVERSE PROOF #25-2007-W-Burnished #26-2007-W-PROOF #27-2008-W-Burnished #28-2008-REV/07-Burnished #29-2008-W-PROOF #30-2010-W-PROOF #31-2011-W-Burnished #32-2011-S-Burnished #33-2011-W-PROOF #34-2011-P-REV/PRF #35-2012-W-PROOF #36-2012-S-PROOF #37-2012-S-REV/PRF #38-2012-W-Burnished #39-2013-W-ENH/UNC #40-2013-W-PROOF #41-2013-W-REV/PRF #42-2013-W-Burnished #43-2014-W-PROOF #44-2014-W-Burnished #45-2015-W-PROOF #46-2015-W-Burnished #47-2016-W-PROOF #48-2016-W-Burnished #49-2017-S-PROOF #50-2017-W-PROOF #51-2017-W-Burnished #52-2018-S-PROOF #53-2018-W-PROOF #54-2018-W-Burnished #55-2019-S-PROOF #56-2019-S-ENH/REV/PRF* #57-2019-W-PROOF #58-2019-W-ENH/REV/PRF #59-2019-W-Burnished #60-2020-S-PROOF #61-2020-W-PROOF #62-2020-W-V75-PROOF #63-2020-W-Burnished #64-2021-W-HE-PROOF #65-2021-W-HE-REV/PRF #66-2021-S-FE-PROOF #67-2021-S-FE-REV/PRF #68-2021-W-FE-PROOF #69-2021-W-FE-Burnished #70-2021-W-S- REV/PRF-2-COIN SET #71-2022-W-PROOF #72-2022-S-PROOF #73-2023-W-PROOF #74-2023-S-PROOF #75-2024-W-PROOF #76-2024-S-PROOF I have counted 76 ASE'S Mint Marked examples. These are NOT counting any sets that have the same ASE's in it. All the Bullion examples equate to 40 examples... 76+40 =116 together. The Topic of what is a complete ASE set is Up to the collector....... Hope some find this Helps.....

I recently decided to collect ASEs along with Morgan and Peace dollarsI'm not a completest, I mostly would like to try to get one of each ASE type But ASEs are super confusing, I have read multiple topics and internet articles and it all still seems "squishy " So I started with a clean 1986 as my first purchase and then I created this shopping list, I may or may not get all of these While reading this topic I stumbled across this post Quote: Originally Posted By Mojojojo :

THANKS, this was an amazing help to my understanding of ASEs While I appreciate the work you put into this list it doesn't work for my brain So I have taken your info and translated it into a format I understand I hope you are not offended by this and if possible can you help me make sure it is correct and that I understood your chart I also have some questions Why do ebay sellers list XXXX-W as Burnished or Uncirculated? What does WS stand for? How is there an Uncirculated and Burnished ASE for 2008? If a Bullion coin does not have a mint mark how you you know which mint it is from? If anyone has any info to help me better organize my list please feel free to post it

If a Bullion coin does not have a mint mark how you you know which mint it is from? WS is the same as W/S, West Point and San Francisco both made ASEs those years, there should be some Ps in some years as well, Denver has never made ASEs. Uncirculated the the US Mint terminology for the burnished finish that they started making in 2008. Technically it should be "bullion" for the stackers, which are made the most and have no mint mark. Uncirculated is often referred to as burnished, but the mint calls them Uncirculated. It's confusing. The only way to know where the bullion is from us by the labeling or strap around the large box it left the mint in. The graders buy the big and know where it's from and will out the implied mint mark in parenthesis behind the year (S), (W), (P). If it's just in a holder without the parenthesis, it just raw, no holder, etc, there is no way to determine. PS proofs were not made in 2009, Uncirculated was not made in 2009 or 2010.

Thanks for the info Gilly I decided to collect these I wanted to stick with West Point ASEs as much as I could As I review the list, I see that the first West Point Proof was in the 1995 10th Year Anniversary Set , I'll probably skip this one for now I see there was a West Point Proof in the 2006 20th Year Anniversary Set, this seems like a reasonable example for a Proof ASEAlthough 2008 is the accepted first occurrence of the Burnished ASE I will probably get the 2011 version since it was in the 25th Year Anniversary Set The 2013 75th Anniversary of West Point Set satisfies the first W Reverse Proof and only W Enhanced Uncirculated (Burnished) ASE so far 2019 for the first Enhanced Reverse Proof Does that sound about right? I might just go 2013 for the Burnished, Proof, Reverse Proof and Enhanced Uncirculated ASEs
