Quote: I'm just surprized no one has commented on the design The design is the same as any other type 2 Gold Eagle. To me the finish is still a bit of a mystery. I don't think we'll really know till it's in hand.

Did you watch the video?
Is the screen capture not showing up for you?
It has the same finish design as the 2017 S EUC Clad Proof Set

Yes, I subscribe to that channel, so I saw it before you posted it. Probably a half hour after it was on YouTube. I'm not totally convinced that the appearance is going to be "just like that". Note I said "totally convinced". I'm taking that "with a grain of salt". We'll see. It's ok if that's it, but expecting something similar to 2013. Wishful thinking probably.

While the US mint and we make a big deal about the finish on this coin the other mints like Perth, Britain, Canada yearly release what looks like reverse proofs as standard issues with much better security features. Still I'm going to try and get one.

The more I look at the screen cap, the more it resembles the 2019 Enhanced Reverse Proof Clad Kennedy half dollar. The 2019 is bottom right The screen capture

Thanks for posting price. Well that's "only" about $960 over current Kitco spot price, roughly 21.8% premium. Sure hope it retains a strong numismatic value.
As I understand it the major mints USA, Canada, Britain, Australia are not supported by tax dollars, they have to generate their own revenue, hence high prices.
Those who bought gold back in January when it got to about $5,500 are sure in a hole if they had to sell today. I think gold will get back up there but nobody knows when.

A backorder would be preferable to losing out. I had read that the shortage in ats is due to bulk buyers. Either way, all we can do is try.
