I was planning to post this in a thread on transportation tokens, but found the thread was locked. Never mind, this is a good place for it. This junk shop find is a streetcar token from the North German city of Lübeck. I think it looks just like the Toonerville Trolley! Unlike many cities in Germany that have retained and modernised their streetcar systems, Lübeck replaced its network with buses in 1959. Ford's Model A is featured on the obverse of each.. The Bronze medal is 2-1/2" in diameter, the nickel medal is smaller at 1-1/2" Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems.
