Looks like an old cleaning, which is what the dealer says. XF40 to my eyes. I'm interested at the right money. Thoughts?

XF Details Cleaned. How much is he asking? ebay sold listings have this coin and condition at around $140.

too strong on both sides for a 40 I'm at XF45. if the coin was cleaned it was a long time ago and I would expect it has a good chance to grade straight. I think the small hairlines and marks here and there are from being circulated and just banging around in a pocket for decades

From the pictures, I would say it straight grades. Cleaning would have been long ago. XF-45

I would disagree. The symmetrical toning/lighter areas around the stars, liberty & the date are a sure sign of originality IMO.
XF 40/45.

Didn't get it. Two other bidders passed my high bid pf $110. Sold for $117.

The winning bidder was Great Southern Coin, so it will be for sales again soon, probably flipped for twice that amount.
