bobh Valued Member Switzerland 54 Posts	Posted 03/21/2025 1:43 pm Looking at the Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coins...iian_dollar, there are some reference numbers: e.g. the 1883 50 cent piece is designated "CS-4". Where do these numbers come from? I only have Breen / K.M. / and nothing else for Hawaiian coinage. Report this Post to the Staff

My guess is that the number comes from this catalog. Donald Medcalf and Ronald Russell, Hawaiian Money Standard Catalog (self-published, 2d ed. 1991). Here are the catalog numbers to help locate the book: The ASIN is B0079UPQVW, ISBN-10 is #8206;0962326305, and ISBN-13 is 978-096232630. There is also a website called the Hawaiiana Numismatist. CS-1 is the dime CS-2 is the 1/8 dollar CS-3 is the quarter CS-4 is the half CS-5 is the dollar.
