Hi everyone, its been a while I would like your opinion on (if you would be so kind) 2 pennies I have one from 1896 and another from 1950 and both weigh 10 grams, both are normal diameter 30mm and thickness 2mm , are these anomalies or is there more, they are normally 9.5grams I believe, but what would cause the extra weight, curious , I would appreciate any insight on these, many thanks in advance.

They look well toned, but not sure how much that adds to them. I am not familiar with the tolerances for these pieces either. I hope for better opinions than mine.

Depends a bit on the accuracy of your scales. Range of weights for these is about 9.1 to 9.7g, so 10g is not too far out.
1950, of course, is a much scarcer date, so a copy is not out of the question.

thank you jbuck and paddyb, my others of this date range from 9.5 for the 1896 and 9.5/7 for the 1950, I do like the toning I prefer these and the chocolate brown ones to the luster variety.
