Quote:you would need that much to buy that 7070 gold page - The problem would be - would you have enough left over to buy the gold coins to place in that page.. It would certainly take a large chunk just to track one down, let along pry it from the owner's hand!

I'd buy a CH BU St. Gaudens $20 gold piece, high relief and Roman numerals.
Then a CH BU 1916 Full Head SLQ.
Then a CH BU 1922 Plain Lincoln.
If there was an 1894-S dime available that I could afford, that would be the cherry on top.

I'd want a Mint state Libertad collection. Every year, every 1oz coin. This is actually doable for the working guy as long as you start at it young but there are some difficult years where you might have to forget about mint states. I looked into this because the coins are just so beautiful I can spend hours looking at them. Even when on a mantle with pricey "artsy" coins its still the Libertad that steals the show. But this collection s simply beyond the reach of an old retiree that has, as well, responsibilities to buy bullion for generational wealth to pass on too. I was able to grab some interesting years but some years I never even found one, like 1998/1999 with mintages of 67,000/95,000. But hey, I found a 1994 and a 2014 "tho none were mint state" they were still nice coins. So if cash meant nothing there'd be some less expensive things I'd knock off too as well as stuff like a Sov collection that would choke an elephant. I'd swing heavy in Barber coins as well. All Barbers because I just like them and find him to be an interesting artist.

I would pick-up the 1936 - 1952 US Proof Sets to have (to date) all of the issued proof sets and, I would add a 2014-W Gold 50th Anny Kennedy half to my collection. That's about it, coin wise. Knowing I could afford future USM price increases would be a cheap thrill too.
