2005 Nickel - Is This An Actual Error?

ThatNewGuy New Member United States 0 Posts	Posted 07/11/2025 12:36 am I just found this nickel in my pocket change yesterday, and all of the curves/markings perfectly match a penny. I haven't found anything like it in all of the online searches I've tried. It's a 2005 D Nickel with hard to read lettering. I don't know much about coin collecting, but I've got a few that hold a decent value, so don't cook me for not knowing the correct terminology or all of the ins and outs Report this Post to the Staff

Perhaps it was in a sticky cup holder or some such. No matter how it happened, it's not an error. No, it is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin and what you have could not have happened at that time so it is damage.
