Thinking of sending this note in for certification what would you consider the grade to be?
Appreciate all opinions.

On the reverse, I see missing imprint info on the printers info + white lines up through the god of Mercury. No planchettes are seen anywhere (front or back). All these are "tells" which suggests the note was washed. So the graders won't likely give it EPQ (nor "Original") & that will mean that the grade is "apparent" really (so I wouldn't recommend submitting). Take a look at an UNC note to see what elements have been removed (or are compromised).

Fine, possibly VF
If you think it has a chance to grade VF I would probably send it in for grading. My reasoning is that it helps protect the note from potential damage that can happen due to handling, particularly by someone inexperienced. Once you have it professionally graded, it definitely helps with pricing going forward.
Great piece of history! Thanks for sharing!

Ya I hear you guys, that was my inclination F to VF.
I'd be pleased with a F18 but that's a grade not often used.
I think I'll only send it in if I need a additional note to qualify for a special rate at this point.
Thank's to all for your help.
