Quote: Don't get bamboozled out of your physical metals. Unless you need the money right now. The fear mongering will only get worse with the volatility, it's done deliberately, people will panic sell.

Ah well, looks like the overnight bump has evaporated. Silver back down to $106.

There are a lot of people pontificating about the reasons/ directions for the prices/ changes of price of precious metals. It's quite fascinating, but few people want to admit that they don't really know why. Uncertainty doesn't sell. What have been their predictions for the last few years, and how accurate were they? Yes, there are some things that definitely affect the prices but those point in the general direction of changes, and can't, in my opinion, explain the magnitude of the changes.

That was a good stress test, some pretty tense downward pressure this morning.
Price discovery showed there were enough buyers at $103 to hold it and bounce for the 2nd time since yesterday.
$103 is definitely a support level, now $108 has to hold.
If anyone is wondering about where metals are heading, just ask yourself 'what exactly has changed since silver broke $100 and gold broke $5000 ?

Some people say to "touch grass", and this is good, but I like to touch silver/gold sometimes too! The sound of pre-1964 coins jingling is special, and sounds like money more than the clinky coins of today. Nothing like letting a handful of Mercury or Roosevelt dimes flow through your open fingers and realize those puppies are now worth $8 each in silver value alone!

I have a newly found love and admiration for my sets of Roosevelt, Mercury, and Barber dines. Slightly more fondness for my Franklins, Kennedy, Walkers, Morgans and Peace sets I am grateful and fortunate to have been able to put all these sets together, and more, back when silver was bouncing between $15 and $22 an ounce.

Quote: Walking into work today I overheard 2 people on the maintenance staff discussing gold and silver. I wonder if that is a sign of the top. I don't think this is true like it was in the past. Everyone has access to news and metals are talked about in social media.

Okay so it's after 1 pm EST and so far no funny business like happened yesterday at this time. Who knows maybe by the time I finish writing this, you never know. Here's my theory, and this is complete speculation. I'm not a genius in anything but I'm pretty competent at putting 2+2 together. So call me crazy or paranoid, just don't call me late for dinner okay. I don't think that $100 was ever really the "big wall" they were going to defend. I have a sneaking suspicion that wall is waiting at yesterday's high. Defending $120. The big dump yesterday, followed by the flurry of bearish articles that followed. All pointing to the comments made by the "former" lol, chief of whatever you call it, at JP Morgan and how he compares silver to a meme stock bubble. Something is telling me that's where all the big shorts are sitting at around $115. And this here is the real battle front. Okay everyone can laugh now if you think this isn't plausible

At this point, almost anything is plausible.

All right, silver is back above $112 and it looks like gold is getting close to $5200. Is the smackdown officially over?

Maybe so. Seems to be leveling, preparing for the next milestone. $120.

I think options expiry was today at 1:30 PM EST. Some pressure to short is off for the moment at least.
