I have a newly found love and admiration for my sets of Roosevelt, Mercury, and Barber dines. Slightly more fondness for my Franklins, Kennedy, Walkers, Morgans and Peace sets They are all good. Barber halves look nice too, but are getting pretty expensive. Quote: I am grateful and fortunate to have been able to put all these sets together, and more, back when silver was bouncing between $15 and $22 an ounce. Those were "the good old days". I bought some at $12. Unbelievable the difference today. I have been buying a few Mercs and Barber dimes. Roosevelts are great, but really kind of boring in comparison. The 1930s had some really classy silver coins (Mercs, Walkers, Peace dollars).

I'd love to know how this story is going to end. We're living through history here.

Quote: Not sure what you're into that makes you say that but agree when it comes to "varieties", they are lacking. Bought a couple hundred proofs in cello a few years ago and this was the best I found They are works of art, kind of flattened sculptures. The obverse you are showing is amazing, almost fully 3-demensional looking. We don't have kings/queens, so at least in the modern age, we put presidents on our coins. I have quite a few Roosevelt dimes too, and appreciate them. I do like classical coins, like Mercury dimes. Here is one of my recent favorites. It is a Guatemala 1/4 Real, and I love the volcano imagery (those are actual volcanoes at Lake Atitlan. I have seen them and it is a very scenic area). The reverse is a regal Lion. A very simple coin, which I like. This one is PCGS MS63. I have a few loose ones too to look at and hold. I also have a couple other MS variations (kind of overdid it, but they are cool, tiny coins). They are 11.5 mm in diameter, and total weight is 0.85 g. To me it is fascinating that these coins were circulated, and were used by real people for centuries (the Real, and variations).

Ahhhh, the design. I would agree with you. My favorite U.S. coin is still the Morgan dollar, she stole my heart several years back. There is much international coinage out there that is fantastic as far as design goes. I have fun looking at all that is posted here.

What a time we're living in ehh?, to be disappointed at Gold and silver for, and I can't believe I'm even writing this, dropping "back down to $5250 and $112.50" from $5291 and $114, respectively. And don't forget yesterday we were back down to around $103 Let's put it in perspective a bit shall we, maybe this will cheer all of us up a bit. Here's the 1 month daily chart for silver futures, showing how it went from about $70 to a high of $117 in just 1 month, gold looks almost identical.

It's important to look closely and focus on Price Levels and not so much on every $2, $5, $10, $13 move.
There are large pockets of buyers and sellers at various levels. For example levels were there was consolidation and where highs and lows were made. Also known as support and resistance levels.
More important to look at where silver just came from and where it is headed.
What we know so far- Buyers showed up at $103 and $108 and outpaced the sellers. Sellers showed up at $117 and outpaced the buyer's. The market will move between these levels every day for price discovery, all WE have to do is pay attention to where those are and plan our buy/sell decisions accordingly.

I primarily bought gold when it was under $2000 and silver when it was under $20 and right now I'm not looking to buy or sell anything. I'm just along for the ride at this point, giggling with glee whenever they go higher. But that's just me...
