Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6512 Posts	Posted 10/10/2025 7:34 pm I believe that a woody coin is just a result of incomplete mixing of the alloy's constituent metals. I have seen quite a few examples among vintage Jefferson nickels, and definitely on Buffalo nickels (which are also known for lamination issues). Report this Post to the Staff
