Just looking for an opinion on this 1986 Cent, looks DDR to me but I defer to your expertise.

What you're seeing is probably lighting induced doubling.

Thanks Errers,
Guess I need some kind of light filter. Any suggestions?

When in doubt:
I always rotate my coins to look at it with light hitting it at a different angle. I will also angle the coin itself to my loop. These two things, for me, will usually indicate if it's just light induced doubling.

The valley effect on the lettering that makes it looks like two letters, in my opinion, is issues like Die Deterioration and Machine Doubling working together under improper lighting to make it look like there could be double lettering. If you look at the actual size of the devices themselves, the letters have actually been reduced and worn away, when with a doubled die, the devices appear larger than normal because the design is spread out. It helps to have a single angled light that you can adjust to highlight different high and low areas, which helps with having what Errers said, lighting induced doubling, and it will help you differentiate the types of doubling happening here.

Thanks for all your input, I appreciate it.
I always rotate my coins and in this case they looked the same which is why I posted it, but lesson learned. You guys are great, thanks
