Is it raised or incuse? A bit hard to tell from the photos, if its incuse maybe a minor bit of struck thru grease?

You could try soaking it in pure acetone to see if it'll go away.

It looks like a small circular piece of clear plastic, to me.

Nss-52 are you saying struck thru plastic? I soaked it in acetone for 15 min. Is that a double on the initials you think?

Would something like this be worth sending into pcgs to get authenticated?

Just my opinion... Looks like small drop of some sort of chemical that has stained the copper lam. Note how it goes into the shield.

15 mins might not be a long enough soak in acetone. Try soaking it overnight. Bet it comes off. Just a guess.

My prediction is that it stays. I bet a drop of something acidic or basic sat there long enough to stain and eat away a bit of the copper plating.

@Brand: Now you have me wondering what a lye based drainer opener or oven cleaner would do to a coin.

Well after letting it soak nothing changed so I lightly rubbed with q tip and most of it came off except those little ripples on it.
