Appears to be a bit under graded. I'll say MS-62.

The coin certainly is in a later die state, with pretty heavy die clashes, some die polishing, and several interesting die cracks. The "1" is definitely doubled, and possibly the "18" or "188." There is a nice crack from OF to the first "A" of AMERICA, through the eagle's left wing. I'm not sure how much of what is on the chin is die polishing or a rusted die and how much is from contact marks. The gash across the cheek is pretty long and deep. I'm comfortable with MS-63 now, but could be persuaded a full step higher if the chin looks better in hand than the photos currently suggest. Overall, this is a nice coin, and certainly should be fun to VAM.

This is the type of Morgan that I like - lots of interesting die anomalies. The reverse die was just about finished. If I had to guess, I'd say this was a VAM-6b - let us know what you find.

reverse a little weak for the year. maybe just a few too many marks on the cheek to pull a 64. I'm at MS63 as well

Nice! I'm at 63. The lighting on some parts of obverse might be washing out some detail that could put this higher, potentially same effect but without light on eagles chest.
