I have been going through my 1915 pennies and came across one that looks like it has a recessed ear ,but no broken tooth, it is smaller ,but doesn't look broken to me ( denticle if you're not from UK) , am I just imagining it

Not all the 1915 recessed ear coins have the broken tooth; this mostly appears on the 1916 examples (all 1916 recessed ear pennies known so far have the broken tooth).

I suspect they used multiple recessed ear dies for 1915 but only one for 1916, and that one happened to be the one with the broken tooth.
