Did The Mint Lower The Relief On Presidential Dollars?

Brandmeister Pillar of the Community United States 6452 Posts	Posted 02/19/2026 12:23 pm Having just finished some photographs of two Presidential dollars, I immediately noticed that the 2007 Washington bust seems to have far more relief and detail than the middle years. Did the Mint drastically lower the relief on the presidents at some point? Most of them seem flat and almost 2D, like Sacagawea. Report this Post to the Staff

I wonder if they got jaded with the program and put less effort into engraving the designs; the lower relief was a side effect.
