2014 India 5 rupee - Komagata Maru After being forced to leave Vancouver on July 23, 1914, due to restrictive Canadian immigration laws, the Komagata Maru was forced back to India, where 19-20 passengers were killed by British authorities upon arrival at Budge Budge, Kolkata, on September 27, 1914, with others imprisoned. The ship itself continued in service until it was wrecked off Japan in 1926.
