I've been sitting on this one for a while. Looks like a doubled E in LIBERTY. Doesn't match anything on Doubledie, Wex or VV. Coin is nearly MS. What do you think?

Thanks!

I do not have a good or any answer at this point but would agree with Dearborn. Already, I would think this be a good one to bring Mike Diamond into. I have seen isolated Machine Doubling before, but nothing like this in the middle of a line of devices, very confusing for me, and on two opposing sides, very odd.

The oblique angle really shows it best. I thought the community would appreciate this one. Thanks for the feedback.

I agree with the others about not being a DDO in spite of the incuse lines on the E.

I'm wondering if there could be "debris", such as grease or polishing residue, inside the E causing this effect?

I noticed that your Abe has the "humpback". I have found this paired with the Recurring die subsidence error (which is found on the 73D) before and wonder if the "E" anomaly is not somehow tied in with this. Your pic marked up, showing the humpback and an overlay.
