I have found a 39 DDR Monticello in unc I have been told it's a beautiful strike and the graders at shows have never personally seen one as nice. I have wanted to get it graded, but I still haven't. Once I can figure out how to post a Pic, I will. *** Edited by Staff to add pics to OP, and to crop and/or rotate images. In the future, please crop and correctly orient images before uploading. ***

Found that 39 in a uncirculated clad set of nickles I bought and couldn't believe what I seen when flipping over the 39.

This is a fantastic example. Too bad about the dark stain below the E - it's a distraction at the primary focal point. Quote: Thinking about sending to Great collections and let them get it graded. Thats a good call if you plan to sell it. I've had great success with them.

A very nice example of a popular variety.
If you are just grading it for your own satisfaction, probably CACG or ANACS would suffice.

One of the most sought after Doubled Dies of Jefferson nickels. Absolutely beautiful.

Fantastic find! That's a beautiful example.
One thing that may be worth seeing what other think is about the carbon spotting. There is the bigger spot at the "E" of MONTICELLO, but there appear to be a few much smaller spots on the obverse. There may be spots near the "N" of IN, "G" of GOD, and possibly at the first "T" of TRUST. There likely are spots at the "L" and "B" of LIBERTY and the stop (dot) between the "Y" and date.
Conservation has risks, including revealing what may beneath the spots and possible discoloration of the surface leading to the coin being detailed.
I don't have any hot takes here about conservation services on this coin. I do think it's worth pondering and getting some opinions about whether it would be appropriate here.
As is, this is a great coin. It's definitely a much higher grade than I've found in the wild.

Thank you! I spend hours looking through coins and my wife always thought I was crazy and would never find anything. Then she heard me hooping and hollering when I found that beauty. It's finds like this that makes it so fun and rewarding.

That's a great example of a beautiful variety. It has some nice mint luster. Congratulations.
I'm with fortcollins about conserving the spot under the E and at the obverse rim at k5, but the others might open up a can of "detail" worms.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
