I came across some up for auction but I noticed there are no listings for any doubled dies on them. So is there enough value in them to pick them up? Right now the price is about $.75 a coin.

Not sure yet on the Halves - I got a subscription for the 2 roll set P/D, just in case - but the mint site is not listing how many are being produced in the roll (or bags) yet.

75 cents per coin sounds very reasonable (pending condition) if you're looking to fill a JFK album....What the range of years ?

From what I could see of them, late 1990's through at least 2009. There may be some more recent than that though. I couldn't really see dates on many. They are in plastic flips in a plastic bag. The title said NIFC and I understood that to be newer halves? From like 2002 on up?

So the question/answer you/we are looking for is, when did the JFK halves became NIFC ?( From memory I might say mid 80's )That I can not say for sure but maybe google has it ?

edited: here's what I got from google.....Half dollars not intended for circulation, such as proof coins and those minted with dates 2002 through 2020 occasionally enter circulation; these issues are sometimes found through coin roll hunting by collectors, being referred to as NIFCs (from "Not Intended for Circulation").
So if those late 90's are UNC...not a bad deal ( @ 75¢ ) in my eyes. If you're filling an album

I agree with those who said they are worth it if you are building a Kennedy half collection. And that 75¢ is a reasonable price. A better price than they sold for from the US Mint! Aside from filling gaps in a collection, I couldn't say.
If you're hoping to flip them...ehhh, if they're BU, maybe, but there's not much margin. But a person with a few pesky empty holes might pay 2-3 dollars, shipping included.

I think I can clarify the years of the recent NIFC Kennedys. They were made only for collectors in the years 1970, 1987, and from 2002 to 2020. Beginning in 2021 they were returned to circulating coin status.

Thank you. I don't really collect halves because they are difficult to get here. One bank told me that I could special order them with a 2 box minimum but I couldn't bring any back to the bank. The halves I have, my father had collected and are mostly 60s and 70s.

Why pay 75¢ for a 50¢ coin - that's my take on clad Kennedy halves. Even though they are so called "NIFC" you still find them when roll searching.

I would agree with Marv with one execption, .75 is a great price if you need a few specific dates/mint marks.
