Neat coin I just found.
Bunch of stuff going on here!
Would the second picture be considered a RIDB? Looks like a flake pressed into the penny.
Kinda like the Don King hair on some of the letters!

can't be a lamination on a plated zinc core coin - but it looks like a struck through copper flake (or what ever it is called )

It could be a Retained Interior Die Break.

Yes, this could be a "copper flake" like Dearborn mentioned........

And like E&V mentioned - this looks like a RIDB - the die crack is on the right then it turned into a complete broken piece that is still retained in the die..........

Your "Don King" hair is most likely the result of metal flow causing Die Deterioration........

I was only thinking aggressive polishing with 40 grit, not metal flow. Time to relook at that on error-ref
