Hi all, first of all, I thought I posted a greeting a few days ago, but I don't see it;
Why don't I see it, especially with my new eyeballs (had new lenses put in about 4 weeks ago,) perhaps is because I'm 82, somewhat forgetful and at times confused or I didn't hit enter or hit wrong button?
Anyway, I'm living near Pie Town, New Mexico after being born and raised in PA, spending 2.5 years, while in the US Army, in the Canal Zone where I fell in love with collecting coins of Panama, a year visit to Vietnam, then spending most of my adulthood in Albuquerque, NM with a side trip for a year to Iran back in 1974-75.
I'd better stop now or I'll be accused of using this wonderful forum to write my autobiography!
Have a great day!

Thank you Nickelsearcher.....you are one of the reasons I so like this CCF! Infection, surgery but you are still taking care of your duties, volunteer though they are.
Congrats on your latest achievement here on CCF!

Thank you JimmyD!
I have distant relatives in Canuck land, from my great grandma, who live to be 113 yrs old....
....A French-Canadian who, sneaked (as she called it) across the boarder and at 14 years old married a full blooded Algonquin Indian of the Susquahananox Tribe, so my Pappy said, he died at 96, my mother is still going strong a few months after her 100th birthday!
I used to collect the Gold Mapel Leafs, sold them all to pay for my new eyeballs, $7K above insurance!
Hang loose, someday I'll tell you about the 22,000 coin accumulation I bought way back when for only $2,250.00!!

CoinForMe, Thank you for dropping in and for leaving a comment!
Yes, I agree, unpuffed-out-chestedly, with you. I've had a very varied life, some planned and some not!. Regardless, all along the way, Numismatics has provided me with a hobby to occupy my mind after coming home from work.
Work was mainly aviation related: 1st exposure to aviation was living near and airport, way above it on a hillside, watching airplanes come and go,
I especially remember during the hot clay summer days in PA watching the heavier aircraft like the Flying Box Cars and the 3 tailed TWA Connies clamber out of the New Cumberland airport and disappear over the hill in front of the house.
My 1st real occupation was in the army as a electronic technician working on maintaining and repairing the guidance system on the SAM, the HAWK missile.
Next, helicopter pilot, 1 tour in Vietnam.
Then Air Traffic Controller for 27 years, split with a year trip to Iran as an helicopter instructor pilot .
Finished up my career in the FAA as an Aircraft Accident and Safety Investigator working out of D.C. Been retired since 1997! I always knew that the US Government would pay me to stay home some day!! AND this is not the 1/2 of it as far as the other 1/2 of my life while away from work!!
I usually had two jobs concurrently, US Government and doing my own thing on the side!
Is your ear burning or should I say, Eyes burning yet?
Enough for now.....John

@jomic - - from far to your north and over the border. ... Also being a fellow octogenarian, I can empathize with you! . Yesterday I got my first ever traffic ticket in over 60 years driving (actually, she gave me a warning instead of a $325.00 ticket). The police officer said she didn't want to be the first to give me a ticket. I was stopped at a red light, the light signal turned green for the inside turning lane ( I was in the next lane over) and I started across. Seeing my lane was still red half way across, so kept going. However .... the car I cut off, which was turning from the opposite direction, just happened to be an unmarked police car. Will now force myself to pay more attention when driving! ..
