Very likely is PMD, the reason I ask is there is something about the inside of the scratch like it has a crack in it and a folded metal. And the way it's pressed into her head that makes me think could be a planchet tear? Or is it just PMD.

"Just PMD", I'm afraid. It looks like a "face slash" because that's exactly what has happened: something hard and sharp-ish (like a chisel, or maybe a heavy-duty blade of some kind) has gouged into the coin there. The metal displaced from the gouge has formed ridges on either side - this is a very typical gouging pattern.

And it looks old because I happened a long time ago I'm guessing, dang it. The dreaded PMD.

It's just PMD unfortunately. Worth face value.

Keep looking, keep asking questions, keep failing. This is how we learn.

These sorts of circular scourings - often called the " Ring of Death" by collectors - have various causes, but all those causes are PMD. Those coin-roll-crimping machines are one such cause; getting caught in a Gumball Machine, slot machine or some similar mechanism is another. Sometimes, it's simply someone who has said "I wonder what happens if I switch on my electric drill buffing brush and slam it down onto a coin", and found out the hard way exactly what happens.

On this forum, we do prefer it if you restrict your posts to "one coin per thread", unless the coins have similar features or otherwise linked; you're more likely to get fresh eyes onto each coin if you do that. If that means you're posting 20 different threads per day, so be it - we actually prefer it that way, to dumping all your coins into just a couple of threads.

Ah yes I will do that for now on.

If you where a coin you would be a keeper for sure!
