I recently noted that I've found very few silver half dollars since the spot price of silver skyrocketed five months ago. Last week for the first time in several months I found a silver "ender" in a box of BWRs that I acquired -- but that box contained only one more 40% silver coin. Several CRHs with YouTube channels also report that recent results have been very disappointing. On a more positive note, I've been finding a modest -- but steady -- stream of silver Roosevelt dimes in CWRs and BWRs. I admit that I get less excited finding a silver Roosevelt dime than a silver half dollar (even though the value of two silver dimes and a 40% silver Kennedy half dollar is very similar). For example, today I found two silver dimes in 14 BWRs that I acquired at a local BoA branch. The almost pristine, slightly-toned 1955-D dime is in much better condition than the equivalent coin that I collected ca. 60 years ago!

That nice 1955 was surely 'liberated' from someone's collection. But, in 2026, that could be a reasonable conclusion for any silver found in circulation.
Nice coin!

And today I found an "ugly" 1947-P dime in a CWR. I encourage other CRHs to search for silver dimes (especially in CWRs). An ordinary dime has such little value that most people probably don't look at them very closely. In addition, I've been lucky enough to find several CWRs that contained nothing but silver dimes.

This week I'm enjoying a "hot streak" finding silver dimes. Today I found three more silver coins in 14 BWRs or CWRs that I acquired at two local banks by trading rolls that I searched yesterday. The unusual thing is the number of older Roosevelt dimes that I've recently found. I usually find silver dimes that were minted during the early1960s. But this week most of the dimes I've found were minted between 1946 and 1955.

Excellent finds! And thank you for renaming the file so it did not interfere with your Kennedy post.
