Quote: I just love seeing another Ike Dansco being filled! It's definitely a nice series to get into. I'm not really one who is much for dollar coins, but I figured I would give it a shot. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get into some of the older dollars like Morgans, Peace dollars, etc... But then I look at the prices

Ikes and baby dollars are more economical.

I've noticed that sometimes, if there is a coin that isn't particularly appealing or interesting, once you start gathering them together in a collection, it will change your outlook on it and you will appreciate them more. But, then again, I've gotten coins together in a set and felt the opposite also

A few shots of the SBA dollars, just to give them a little love. A few of them I do plan on replacing, but they don't cost much outside of the 2 Type 2 proof varieties. The 1981 type 1 and 2 proofs. The type 1 is certainly in better condition. The 1981-S also looks pretty nice The seller definitely loaded the album up with some nice coins, despite a couple of them having some issues with the reverse. I'll have to post a few more pictures. SBA is one of my favorite designs personally and has been for years.

Thanks, jbuck I also personally think that proof SBA dollars are quite beautiful. I've been a fan of them for a long time! Especially when they look like this!

If I could have only one version of a coin, it would be proof. I think the contrast makes the images pop and show all the details of the design. Very stunning.

Looking good, Humanist1287! Quote: Yeah, I will do that. One of the downsides of Dansco albums IMO, the fact that the slides get scratched ridiculously easy. My biggest gripe with Dansco albums is their lack of notchouts for slide removal. After a few decades, they CAN become dang near impossible to remove due to not having this feature that nearly every other album manufacturer has figured out. Yeah, it gives the page a 'neater' appearance, but the notchouts are a huge plus for Dansco's competition, at least in my book.

I have to agree, no notches looks cleaner. Maybe they make things easier for users of Whitman et al. but I have had no complaints for nearly 42 years. There was someone here who added their own notches. I need to see if I can find it.

It happens particularly I noticed when getting a brand new album. Luckily, both of these albums I got were used. Quote: Looking good, Humanist1287! Thanks! Quote:excellent SBA dollar! Thanks, Dearborn. It wasn't mine, though. Just a random image I pulled off the net. Definitely a beautiful coin for sure, though.
