All I know is that its dated from 1949-1984, and would like to know more. The coin is definitely bigger than a Quarter.

It's a commemorative RMB 1 for 35 years of the establishment of the People's Republic of China. These were sold at face value, but only a few people were able to get them. My grandmother was working for the government, so she was able to get the ones for 35 and 40th year.

That reminds me! It's the 60th year and I need to get one!

Y#87, they are cranes,2008 Krause Value is $6, mintage is unsure. Hope that helps.
