Just found this 83P Cud this afternoon roll searching.

First the 77P Cud a few days ago and now this one today.

It must be " Cud"tageous!

It the reverse opposite edge weak in that area? That usually happens if they are large enough.

True Cuds leave the opposite edge looking like that. Because of the lack of the opposite die in that area the opposing dies' devices will be weak as there is nothing to press down during the strike in that area. Thus a weaker strike in that area.

I thought that Cud looked familiar. Here's one I found about a year ago, looks like they could be brothers. Does yours have the die crack in the head.

Thanks - never bothered to check for anything else.

Not quite in the same spot as your die crack, but there is a die crack just to the right of the E of WE and extending into Lincoln's head.
