Matte Finish? - Coin Community Forum

Dies used for striking mint set coins are retired early and are sometimes then used to produce business strikes. These business strike will also show the satin finish for awhile until the finish wears off the die surface. Report this Post to the Staff

By afford to, I mean you won't miss the money being tied up in a coin hoard that may gain no value over time and end up being cashed in.
