With one exception. Dies used for striking mint set coins are retired early and are sometimes then used to produce business strikes. These business strike will also show the satin finish for awhile until the finish wears off the die surface.
Thanks guys, my reason for asking is I was trying to figure out if it would be in my interest to hold on to the "good" business strike coins ( State Quarters)to see if at some point and time there might be a market for them.

If you can afford to, I see no reason why not. By afford to, I mean you won't miss the money being tied up in a coin hoard that may gain no value over time and end up being cashed in.
