xshift Pillar of the Community United States 2669 Posts	Posted 08/28/2009 03:04 am The mint mark on this looks sort of like RPM-2 (http://www.stellacoinnews.com/index...h-6-1943-s/) but not quite. I don't know if I managed to capture it right. I tried to mute the lighting and get it from a couple of angles... thoughts appreciated.. If these pictures aren't good enough I can break out the big camera. Report this Post to the Staff

No, these were taken with a microscope Sometimes it's difficult for me to tell if something is completely in focus when it's zoomed in so close on the computer screen. dorino New Member United States 29 Posts	Posted 08/31/2009 12:03 pm I'd really reccomend taking a look at it closer from a different angle. The flat-on microscope can skew your view, and I've seen something like this on pennies a lot. It's usually just the light bouncing off both the base and the peak of the mintmark... I'm really probably wrong, you almost certainly know more than me about this! Nice mercury, by the way.
