Thanks guys, started browsing '09-'34, picked up a 1910, 1913d,1914,1930 and a 1934 all bu this week. The rest of the set will probably cost me a fortune and I'm not a rich man just a Pizza Delivery guy but I think its tips well spent. Probably have to cut back on the buying since christmas is approaching and I dont think my 9 year old daughter would go for, "Daddy bought this pretty penny for you for christmas, look how good it looks in this brown book, we'll just keep it there."

Great set! I was thinking of getting a Dansco album for my Lincoln Cents too, but I can't settle for the fact that there aren't separate slots for the copper and zinc 2009 Lincolns, which in my opinion, are a necessary distinction when determining a complete set.

Quote: I can't settle for the fact that there aren't separate slots for the copper and zinc 2009 Lincolns Yes I felt that way too, like many others have said, it really gets on my nerves some of the holes dansco includes and some they omit. Originally I had the zincs for 2009 but ultimately went with the coppers, I believe they had a redder color and better strike. Now with the new cent design do I continue in the " Lincoln Memorial cent" Dansco or get a new one that just says "Lincoln cents"? I have my wheats in a seperate album that says "Lincoln Cents" and all the memorials in the " Memorial cent" dansco. I've thought about combining them into one dansco but I don't think I would go with 3 separate ones. Thoughts?

Thanks guys I need to put some updated pics I now lack only the '50, '51 & '53 proofs and have started on the '36 -'42 proofs I have a '40 and '42. I have a total of 20 of the 1909 - 1934 cents. I have had to scale my buying back since christmas is approaching, though I am anxious to get started again.

Are you going with a specific color on your 1909-1934? A lot of collectors go brown through 1934 and then red 1935 and later (like you've done so far). Personally I chose brown with all wheats and then red with all momorials. Finding nicer 40's and 50's in all brown was a bit challenging.

Good job! I am thinking to order a Dansco album to start my Lincoln Cent project with my two boys. (My older son is good at reading the year and mint mark. He is 5 years of age.)

Quote: Are you going with a specific color on your 1909-1934? If I can afford a red example I will buy it, though most so far have been on the reddish brown to brown side. Same goes with the condition if I can afford to get them in BU/MS I will, but some will be out of my price range and I will have to settle for the f/vf/xf examples. I am going to keep this set till I pass it along to my daughter so as upgrades come along that I can afford I will purchase them. I had a dream of putting a full MS set together, but for the near future that's not going to happen. Putting a set of '35-present was actually more affordable than I thought and pre '35's are alot harder to find in mint state, at least it has been for me. I don't mind buying off ebay but prefer the shows as I can judge the color and luster in hand. Its been less than a year since I started the set, so I will have to learn some patience, but it has been one of the most challenging and rewarding sets I have worked on. I look forward to completing it and and envious to those who already have.

Jokingjoker, Nice set.
Is it possible for you to post a close up photo of your 1970 S small date?
It looks pretty nice and would love to see it in better light.

Very nice looking collection! Congrats!
Now you're ready to start searching for upgrades! LOL Just as soon as I thought mine was complete, I started seeking upgrades, toners, errors and varieties. The Dansco won't work for what I've put together. I have a lot of multiples where I couldn't decide which one to keep....so I kept 'em all! That's the fun of copper. Within the same year and mint you have have different colors, each beautiful in it's own way.
Are you doing the proofs from 1936 up?
