Those who know the quote in the subject may recognize it from the Coinstar machines. Now don't laugh - I only use them when I visit the US and have to dump a few cents/nickels. (After having moved back to Canada, I don't have an American bank account any more.)

Anyway, I almost laughed out loud when I saw the machine offer up a "comment" on how many coins I had! Besides, I think it was only a few hundred!

I'll take it as the first compliment on my coin collection!

I'm wondering, has anybody ever made the machine angry?

Pretty soon it will start talking back: "Ha! You missed a Wheat cent, loser!"

The Coin Counting machines at TD banks actually invite you to guess how much your change is worth in exchange for a "prize" if your guess is "close." (I forget the definition of "close.") Now that's friendly!

Especially if you know the amount in advance because you are dumping a box of halves :)
