I missed the store promotion too, so I may have to resort to ebay. I noticed they are selling around $1 - $1.50 regularly (plus shipping!). One seller had a roll of 25 for sale in special Canadian Tire paper ... that was going for a premium.

Then, of course, I suppose if you have the regular limited edition token we need the employee special edition too!

I can't think of any large US store that has a metal coin promotion.

I wonder if an employee pocketed a couple.

OMG, here we go.
After the hype of the 1st one, we now will have to spend 75 bucks to get the remainder.

I picked up my coin just a few minutes ago. I also got a free Canadian Tire coin holder. I'll post pictures in a little bit.

So here's the first coin (hockey):

Here's the free holder I got as well. There are 3 coin punch outs in the middle section already removed, and there's 3 more on the right section not removed.

Judging the the background theme I think it's a clue that there might be 3 more coins coming out in the fall.

Oh wow, thanks Tiker, since reading your post I've completely lost interest in this series. Nice detective work!

You've deduced that 7 of these tokens will be released by Fall 2010 and god knows how many to follow. You have to spend $25 per visit on 7 separate visits to get 7 tokens and they won't give you more than one per visit, so they're not easy to collect. After each coin is offered for a limited time they probably all get shipped back to head office, making it impossible to get them later in the stores. After 2 years I imagine they'll offer the first 12 tokens in a collector card for $25.95 to use up old stock.

I might get one or two by accident but I'm not letting myself get hooked on this!!

^^^ malibu ^^^ I really agree. I'll settle for the first of the series. Maybe C.T. will go all R.C.M. with it... a new design every month.

Might as well finish off with the last coin of the winter set. My wife has been asking for some storage bins (so that I can clean the basement) so I got the last coin.
