I have absolutely NO idea, not even the faintest clou, why in the world can anyone call the Canadian Tires tokens a coin? they are not even tokens.... And the other thing: the exposure and attention this garbage gets here.. beats me...!! where has the forum gone?

Suggestion to site admins:
Should there should be a Canadian NCLT section created for these topics? I think that would benefit everyone...

another example: Super stores...= Presidents Choice. they have a car buggy "token". the new one is different from the one before..... WOW... maybe it is a rare issue>?/uhhhhhhhh, what a bargain at $1. just kidding and I hope you all understand how ridiculous it is to call these and similar stuff "COINS". Lets all come down to reality and PLEASE, Please, stick to coins!~ the real thing. It is bad enough that we have pink an yellow dots in them, but please.......

and the fact that you can spend Canadian Tire money as normal money at some places other than Canadian Tire such as Licks Homeburgers means they're more than just tokens.

I absolutely have to throw in my Two Cents on this one! I am strictly a coin collector. I personally would not refer to the Canadian Tire Coins as "Coins" either. However, I do believe they have a place in the coin collecting community, even if it is just a coffee table, conversation sort of place. I am collecting them, and have 2 of 3, and expect to get the 3rd. I can add that they will never be stored with my coin collection, as truly, there is no place for them there.

I cant help it..the fact that they are round, are limited edition, have monitory value, coupled with my ongoing drive to collect items like this, I'm all over these. Im just strugling to find 25 bucks worth of stuff to buy every week, especially in the middle of the winter. The 1st collector coin weeks back was windshield wipers, last week was toilet paper and paper towels, this week?...I dunno..a new frying pan? When will this all end...

Never if you keep going back, they are hoping for your compulsion. At any rate collecting is collecting and I can't agree with the members that chastise others for their interests. The part of us that compels us to collect is what makes collecting fun so no matter if it's department store coupons , beanie babies or poker chips with hockey players out of corn syrup cans the drive is the same and the enjoyment is the same..........enjoy.

I too got roped into this... compulsiveness I suppose, but I have an interest in collecting CT "money" anyways. In order to feel a "little" better about giving the marketing s what they wanted I limited my purchases to 1) items I had intended to buy in the near future and 2) items I would have purchased at CT anyways. We're good on all the variety of automotive related products and miscellanery I would have purchased there... I hope, if there are more releases, they aren't until fall. A good summer bug season will cut through the washer fluid :-)
