Hello everyone.
I am primarily a bullion collector, however I recently acquired some Morgans and was curious as to their value and if I should have them graded.

I thank you in advance for your assistance and please excuse the quality of the photos.

I don't think so. Pretty common dates and the 1898 is pretty scratched and the 1896 has a small ding on the rim. Silver coins are commonly traded as bullion. Morgans usually fetch a premium over spot. Then there are VAM varieties that I know nothing about. There's a possibilty maybe that these are a rare VAM, but better pictures would probably be needed for members to attribute.

to the community.

The 1896 looks like it would grade F-15, maybe VF-20 because the reverse has less wear than the obverse.

The 1898 while the details look to be about EF-40, the scratches will lower the grade somewhat.

Sorry to say neither coin is worth sending in for grading.

Hi Axe, and welcome to the forum!! As everyone else said, I wouldn't bother sending either coin in for grading. They're common dates. Better to just hold onto them and enjoy them as they are. If you want a nice holder for them just because you do, I'd recommend a Capital Plastics holder. You cna get some good deals on them on ebay and they're very attractive.

to CCF!

IMO, any Morgan is a good Morgan!

Yours may be more common dates but I like 'em!
