Iw as just curious to see how many people collected Canadian coinage and or currency
Well scoutjim, I- "Ole Dewey" have collected Canadian and in fact I just listed an upper Canadian Bank token Half Penny on ebay dated 1850- a real beauty- and I'll be darned if today's CoinWorld didn't have a special feature on this coin. I listed it too cheap-hoping for some action- It has a few days to go. I think some of those are real rarities. Also I listed a New Brunswick- and it is not because I don't like them- It is because I had some duplicates. I think one of my favorite Canadian coins is the Tombac 5 cent piece of 1943- Why" because it is WW11 vintage- and the coin has a special message on it- in Int'l Morse code- the message says, "We win when we work together willing=I think that is the correct wording--anyway, I have several of those in the bronze-and also in the steel. 44's and 45's.. So yes, here is a collector who does like Canadian coinage- My weakness is that I like too many. Dewey
ya you got the wording almost right: HHRUMMPH~,I guess some people are just natural nitpickers- No offense intended- When you get to be my age, sometimes your memory slips a cog- Anyway, you guys got the message- and that is the important thing. Dewey
we win when we work willingly
hows that for an alliteration?

I used to collect Canadian coins, paper money, tokens, medals and script. I have sold off the first 2, so all I have left are the last 3. I find them very interesting, and I appreciate all of the areas.

I have a nickel set going (been trying to get someone to trade me some extras so I can fill some holes in my CWS album, hint, hint.) I have a few cents and dimes and will start sets in the future I believe. The 25¢ and 50¢ are very interesting also and wouldn't mind having a couple of them just for the heck of it.

I'm new to the forum, looks like I've been missing out...I have quite a few provincials and some older, also province of Canada, and love the early confederation issues...they are relatively short sets and affordable to comparable US period coins./ They are somewhat difficult to find here in the southern US, which makes the hunt more interesting...fortunately there is ebay. for the survey...almost a Canadian (Maine/New Brunswick border) and a collector of Canadian coins

I absolutely love Canadian coins! Back in the 1960's, I was really heavy into collecting Canadian. Probably twice a month, for several years, I spent any and all of my extra money on Canadian coins, especially through a Canadian company named Marles and Co. I bought silver (the real stuff) dollars, half dollars, cents and nickels. Didn't do too much with the dimes and quarters. I have numerous sets started, and will probably never finish most of them. I really like the silver dollars and would like to complete that collection. No Maple Leafs back then, but I really like them, and have a complete set of the one ounce silver. As stated, I love Canadian coins. Thanks to some CCF members I have received quite a few recently. They are seldom seen in circulation here in western Colorado.

You might finish them Gary :) I'm like you,I love my Canadian coins.I'm focusing on finishing my large and small cents, but I really get into the loonies too. However, those 2006 wolves make nice additions to our collection, huh? I have several dimes and Quarters, but I don't know if I'll put a set together of those either, but I like having them in my collection. sn31.

I will have to get the album and a list together. I just got a bunch from someone on ebay and will have to exclude those. Let me work on it this afternoon and I will PM you later this evening. Appreciate the help. Dean Irishraider
