Texas collector Valued Member United States 369 Posts	Posted 01/14/2010 03:07 am Hello all I picked up this half dollar at the last show I was at (October) and would be very grateful for opinions on grade and any comments on my pics. As some of you may know, my pics tend to come out rather yellowish, so I'm trying some different techniques. These are taken using an LED...um...flashlight Thanks for looking! Bryan1315 Bedrock of the Community United States 14454 Posts	Posted 01/14/2010 04:05 am the pics look fine, as far as grading I would say probably MS-64 and maybe higher but I just don't usually feel comfortable grading higher than that from pictures. it actually looks as if it could grade higher but I will leave all that to someone more experienced in grading this series Report this Post to the Staff

Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6396 Posts	Posted 01/14/2010 11:19 am There are a few very faint hairlines visible in the right obverse field but the coin could still make an MS-65. One caveat: there are lots of very choice slider AU walkers that look like gems. They will have slight rub visible on Liberty's breastplate and the eagle's breast feathers. You need to carefully inspect the coin under a bright light to determine whether it is actually a mint state coin. I sent one such coin to PCGS, convinced it was a solid gem; they gave it an AU-58.
