I've got the local PO to keep any pictorial coins for me. Most I have but they did present me with a Peter rabbit 50p With what appears to be an extra whisker and a bit of excess metal around the profile of the queens face :D And I found an Underground Roundel last week. A bit tatty, but I'm still chuffed to have found that one. A fair few now. Perhaps not as rare or unusual as that the majority of you have but who knows what the future might bring :D

Cheers For sure its an interesting place. I've just joined the group. But while I've gained a coin, I appear to have misplaced 3x£1 2 from Guernsey and one from the Falklands, and I was quite chuffed to have a Falklands one. I hope I've not given it to the window cleaner

Finally got a 2016 20p the other day. So now I have 2016 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, TeamGB 50p & Peter Rabbit 50p so far. (oh and the fake 2016 Magna Carta £2 coin LOL)

RED - I had a fake 1997 pound coin in change recently - I've just identified it as your Lions 7 type (coin ID: Lions 3:2). I'm ashamed to say that I didn't notice it as a fake at the time: it was only when it was rejected three times by a vending machine yesterday that I examined it closely and noticed that the edge legend was not quite right. The obverse and reverse are pretty accurate and it looks just like a well-circulated ordinary pound coin.

LIONS7 is 2002 and that motto only seems to occur with 4th portrait. But quite a few LIONS5.3-5.4 (1997) have been turning up recently. Bedroom detective has worked out that the motto on these, also on some other LIONS, corresponds to those made at the Mushroom Farm raided in 2000. You have to examine one for real to see why. The relatively fresh state of some found suggests they may have been part of a stash kept and laundered much more recently.

Oh I see I was using the numbering on UKFakeandErrorCoins. Very confusing.

I got £40 in two-pound coins at the bank today. There was only one commemorative - but it was a 2015 Magna Carta, the first one I've had!

The way to find them. Ask for £100 of any denomination at the bank obviuosly in the Uk. Have a look through them and then take them back for another go .

Yesterday my brother let me look through his takings from a two-day model railroad exhibition where he had a stall selling model trains and spares. Nothing particularly exciting - no Beatrix Potter or Kew Gardens 50p coins - but I got my first 2015 World War I battleship £2!

So far I've had all these, all 5th Portrait, but no Britannia definitive, in circulation. North London.
