I just got off the phone with the mint.
After a nice conversation with the lady that picked up the phone I found out 2 things.

1. 2010 p&d one cent 2-roll sets will be available on the mint's website for purchase in mid-late april... around the same time as the "Hot Springs" quarters.

2. The rumor about doing away with "Satin-Finish" coins for the UNC sets might be true. They ARE looking into doing away with that minting process to lower their operating costs. An official statement has not yet been released and if they do decide to do away with the "Satin-Finish" it probably wont be announced until May or June. As for now ,she said, "Don't rely solely on our website for info, It doesn't get updated very often."

She also did let me know not to believe the guy on the coin shows on TV. She said she watches those shows all the time, and remembers in 2008 that guy (she described Mike Mezack but didn't say his name) saying that a law was going to be passed to remove the edge incused lettering from the Presidential dollar coins. He said because of that .. they would be the most collected coins in history, the next show of his that she saw he said the same thing but the cost of his 2007 Presidential dollar set had tripled.

Great to hear they are doing the cents again. It's not on their product schedule. Same price as last year?

I would assume so, HOWEVER she couldn't quote a price to me.

I've heard that the Mint-wrapped Cents will be $8.95 for the two-roll Set, same as last year's....

Now that's a scoop. I'd consider that newsworthy. Thanks for sharing.

I'm relieved to hear about the two roll Sets ! ..

The "Satin Finish" deal appears to STILL remain unsolved however. In a post awhile back this was discussed primarily because of the "claims" of the tv show CSN. If this would prove to be true, regardless of that guy being right after all, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME !
