Frank Valued Member United States 151 Posts	Posted 06/15/2006 10:50 pm I've been buying US coins for years at my local coin shop. Whenever he takes in world coins he just throws them into a tin. He doesn't really care about world coins unless they are silver so I've been paying between .03-.07 cents each. I think this is a very nice price, I get a lot of enjoyment and it very inexpensive. Here are some recent coins I picked up. I know they aren't anything special but I like them. Unfortunately, the scans don't do them justice. Camaroon 1948 Ceylon 1943 Ecuador 1946 Guatemala 1989 Iraq A trading buddy in the military was part of the US invasion into Iraq and told me he found a bag of these Iraqi coins in one of Saddam's palaces they took over and made into a military headquarters. I like the Caneroon one... pretty good nick for the price. I like the story with the Iraq one, too. How many other people can claim to have a coin that's "ex the Saddam Hussein collection"? Frank Valued Member United States 151 Posts	Posted 06/16/2006 09:44 am The Ceylon coin is a 25 cents. I bought 500 coins for $20 when I went to the shop a few weeks ago. He only charged .04 cents each because there were so many Mexican coins in the bucket. I live in AZ and it seems like everyone has Mexican coins. He charged me .07 cents each this time because he got a few hundred world coins in from all over. I picked up about 10 Nazi coins in that batch too. I'd buy more of them up but most of them would be common doubles for me. Report this Post to the Staff
