i have to update the count on my last box. I was dumping the remaining coins into my dump bag when I discovered an additional 64D whose silver edge had been disguised by a thin layer of grime. that puts my count at 8 silvers in 4 boxes.

I usually get my boxes from wells fargo. Also today, picked up box number 5...skunked. first time! I hope this isn't the beginning of a cold streak, as I'll be grabbing another box tomorrow.

SDcoinguy,I can't name the bank for personal reasons. I have accounts at several different banks, and I inquired until I found a place that would accept loose bagged coin. What's funny is, they normally only accept rolled coin. It has to be shucked out of the roll by the tellers and goes loose into the bag to be shipped out.

I recently started doing dime rolls and on about my second box I started hitting these.
The Mercury dimes I have found are a 1931, 1936, 1937, 1937s, 1941s, 1943, 1943s
and a 1944. I found all of this in two boxes. Someone must have had a huge collection.
I found them about 2 weeks ago. I also found a few silver Roosevelt dimes.
My dad helps me get three boxes a week for me to search.

Nice score there, Mercman, sounds like a year or so ago when I scored 6 barbers and a couple mercs out of a 12-box order. Like a box-o-chocolates....you never know!

I note that you order 12 at a time. Is it best to do it that way? The reason I ask is that normally at one bank I get 2 a week and one at another for my son. I also in this short time have had to deal with the bank running out of dimes. The bank that ran out was the one which had all the mercs in it and I was totally bummed out. TIA

I order from diff banks to see what comes through.

Peace

I have ordered 12 boxes at once, but usually it's only 4 boxes per bank, I've never been short an order. Large orders are the way to go, cuts down expenses and drive time. Of course, the hard part is dumping, I usually dump in $1-$2k increments.

well I did get a box, my 4th one.

i was so discouraged, I went through $220 of the $250 last night and when I came home from work, I had 5 or so rolls left.

low and behold.. ONE SINGLE... 45 merc! in vf condition no less!.. so I totally know the feeling when you guys only find ONE. but it keeps you alive and wanting that next box...

Picked up a box today, my third this week. Was a little hesitant after my skunk box the other day. I only poked around through some of the layers and it looked like another nil box. I was just about to close it up when I spied a lone silver line. I'm at work at the moment so I'll pop that sucker out when I get home tonight.
